You should repeat this process at least once a week. You will feel the difference within two weeks of use.

Suffering all the time in the winter from extremely dry hands can be very unpleasant. I know many people who also suffers from that so I put together 5 Hand Creams. I think they are some of the best drugstore’s hand creams.

Tried so many products, but only a few satisfied me leaving my hands so soft and nourished. Also I’ll give you some tips in how you can keep them soft and crack free hands. It can be very painful sometimes. As a beauty therapist I always tell my clients to look after their hands in the winter. I give them some tips how to keep their hands looking soft most of the time.

Differences Between Mink and Silk Eyelash Extensions

The main difference between the types of Eyelash Extensions comes down to their firmness, are they real fur, faux fur or synthetic.

Synthetic or Silk lashes are the heaviest, great for a really full thick look, often rated at 0.20mm in thickness.

Mink or Faux Mink are usually thinner and softer than Silk rated at 0.15mm-0.2mm in thickness, but can also come thicker as well.

I usually use Mink, and I consult my clients to figure out the thickness that will work with their expectations. Real Fur won’t hold a curl as well as Faux Fur.

Mink Extensions

Mink Lashes are the new craze. If you’re going for that 100% natural look, this is the best you can get. Most people love Mink because they look so natural and give them full, fluffy Eyelashes Extensions. Real Mink lashes come from the Mink tail, either the Siberian Mink or the Chinese Mink. The Siberian Mink are the better of the two. There is also the Faux Mink, they are more affordable, come very close to holding all the same characteristics except if you get them wet, they won’t lose their curl which is a huge advantage over real Mink.

Characteristics

Mink lashes are known to be very light and soft, making them a more comfortable choice over silk lashes. They also have a gloss or shin to them and have a more natural fluffy look. They often come with a perm and will last a little longer than silk.

Wearability

You should choose Mink Eyelash Extensions if you want the extensions that you’ll be wearing for a long period of time. In other words, you plan on keeping them and continually retouched.

The minks are also great if your own natural lashes are thinner, because the mink lashes are very light and soft.

If you want a more natural looking lash which you can apply mascara to enhance, then Mink should be your first choice.

Note: You should only use mascara designed for extensions.

Cost

Now this is the scary part. An initial set of Real Mink lashes will be a bit pricey.

Silk Eyelash Extensions

When someone says Synthetic Lashes they are referring to either Silk or Acrylic.

Synthetic Silk being the more popular of the two for the lighter feel. Not as light as Mink, but they are more comfortable than Acrylic and can be used for everyday use.

Characteristics

Synthetic Silk Eyelashes are great for short term wear or special occasions since they are thicker, full and have a uniformed perfect curve to them.

Since they already hold such a dark pigment, there is no reason for mascara.

They are usually much thicker than Mink lashes rated at 0.20mm.

Wearability

Choose Synthetic Silk eyelash extension for those special occasions. A wedding, a photo-shoot or a part in a film. You can use them as everyday lashes as well but they won’t be as light and comfortable as the Mink lashes.

Prices at my salon varies from £10 eyebrows to £40 Hollywood Waxing. I first prepared the client’s skin with Lycotane Skin Cleanser, which will remove surface oils, grime, perspiration, pollution, makeup and cream residue. Then I use pre wax-oil to create a barrier between the wax and the skin, and avoiding pulling the skin while reducing skin irritation. The oil also prevents wax sticking to the skin, making waxing comfortable and clean.

Then I start the procedure and also with hot wax I don’t need strip, I pull the wax itself, making sure I really stretch the skin. Once the area is hair free, I use after lotion to clean the area and to help calming skin down. And voila, client is ready to go, of course each area differ timings and technique.

Something I never ever agreed on, was heating wax in the microwave.  When we heat the wax in a microwave we can not properly regulate the correct working temperature . Only a thermostatically controlled wax pot can heat the wax to the optimum working temperature and maintain it safe.

Under the Health and Safety a therapist has a duty of care to provide a safe environment and a safe treatment for their clients.

Body Wraps for Summer

Body wraps can offer excellent short-term results as we move into the warm season.

Today’s society is becoming really conscious of its looks. In search of that perfect skin, we all want a treatment, which will help us look radiant. A treatment to firm up those trick areas and slims down few inches ready for summer such as body wraps.

Often marketed for their slimming qualities, provides detoxing and moisturising results; it also releases a sense of luxury and relaxation. I work with Strictly Professional Body Wraps and the treatment is very popular specially just before summer when clients are preparing themselves for holiday. It’s a great beauty treatment for inch-loss with many claim a minimum loss of a certain amount of inches. My treatment has also exfoliation just before which helps the wrap gel absorb more effectively into the skin.

Clients can loose up to 10 inches each time. It’s a great boost and really positive treatment, however, the loss isn’t necessarily permanent, unless the client makes huge changes to their diet and lifestyle. I always recommended a course of the treatment, at least 3 sessions.

Frustrated by the limitations of convencional hair dryers, Dyson engineers invested about £50 million investigate the science of hair from root to tip. Understanding how it reacts to stress, how to keep it healthy and how to style it. Sounds good?

Four years of state of the art laboratory testing later and Dyson have launched their new Dyson Supersonic hair dryer. My current hair dryer, which I won’t say what brand it is, is bulky, big and very difficult to maneuver. Quite frankly, using it to style my hair is like a painful 40 minutes upper body workout that I didn’t sign up for. Not funny! It’s noisy, inefficient comparing to Dyson, and blasts air at high temperatures, therefore causing damage to my hair . I have also had one traumatic accident where a chunk of my hair got stuck in the filter where the only solution was reach out for a pair of scissors. Sounds familiar?

The Dyson Supersonic hair dryer is literally a breath of fresh air for the hair. It’s lightweight and dries my entire hair in 10 minutes. It’s up to 8 times faster than other hair dryer motors and half the weight. The Dyson Supersonic hair dryer has a special micro processor, which intelligently controls the temperature to help protect the hair from heat damage leaving it soft and shine. There’s also no rink of hair being trapped in the filter. It was actually a Christmas and Valentine’s gift from my husband. I was always complaining about my old hair dryer. He said he felt sorry for me and he gave me an expensive one. Can you believe it?

Another plus point is that it’s a lot quieter than a convencional hair dryer. It has been engineered to reduce noise without compromising speed. Amazing! It’s a very good tool if I have to style a bride’s hair too, as it is really quick.

Anything that will help me get ready quicker in the morning is a winner, however pricewise, at RRP £299, can put a lot of people off, but it also depends of the product durability, which I think is good!

Eyelash Enhancers – Luscious Lashes

Take it to the max with these Eyelash Enhancers!

Unfortunately not everyone is blessed with long luscious lashes. Very often clients come to my salon asking what they can do to grow their brows and lashes. The answer is growth serums or eyelash enhancers.

So why no try one of the latest enhancers or growth serums to help growing strong and healthy flutters?

There are many brands out there with different products, some very expensive and some average. Each one with their own amazing formula and ingredients. However I do think they all do the same job as long as you use them right. Follow the product instructions. Some of them even work on Brows too, I mean, for brows and lashes? That’s pretty good!

I myself tried Lilash (lashes only) and Nouveau Lashes (brows and lashes). They are both excellent. You can only find them online. Prices varies from £15 to over £100. There are also other brands that some of my clients tried such as Number 7, RevitaLash, Jane Iredale HiBrow and Dreamweave. They all said the same thing, the serums work the same way.

The market is packed with all sorts of enhancers, numerous brands for all type of brows and lashes conditions. Like for short lashes, weak lashes, brows that don’t grow, etc.

These are good products for people who have eyelash extension done very often, as the lashes get very fine with time, but they can only use the enhancers when the fake lashes are off and they give some time for lashes to grow back. You can really see the lashes growing after maybe a month or so. Some of them come with an application and others come with a mascara brush.

There are even brands who sell mascara with growth serum in it, which could also be ideal having two-in-one.

As matter of fact a client told me that some of them has an ingredient called Prostaglandin which isn’t good for you. but I mean, it’s not that we are going to get any sort of irritation using it maybe a couple of times in the whole year. If it makes sense to you! I have never had anyone complaining about any side effect from the serums mentioned above, to be honest.
